This week focuses on probability, one of the simplest and most visual areas of maths.
You’ll learn what events are, what outcomes are, and how to describe how likely something is — without any heavy formulas.

DAY 1 — What Is Probability?

What to understand

Probability is simply how likely something is to happen.

Examples:
• It might rain
• A dice might show 4
• A coin might show heads

Practice

Say whether each event is likely, unlikely, or even chance:

  1. Rolling a 6 on a dice

  2. Tossing a coin and getting tails

  3. Picking the only red ball from a bag of 20 blue balls

DAY 2 — Outcomes (All the Things That Can Happen)

What to understand

An outcome is something that might happen.

Examples:
• Coin → 2 outcomes (H, T)
• Dice → 6 outcomes
• Bag: 3 red + 2 blue → 5 outcomes

Practice

List all outcomes:

  1. Coin

  2. Dice

  3. Bag of: 2 green, 1 yellow

DAY 3 — Events (The “Thing” You Look For)

What to understand

An event is the thing you're interested in.

Examples:
• Rolling a 3
• Picking a red ball
• Getting heads

Practice

Say what the event is:

  1. You want a 5 on a dice

  2. You want a blue ball

  3. You want the coin to show tails

DAY 4 — Chance Words

What to understand

Use simple words for likelihood:

• Impossible
• Unlikely
• Even chance
• Likely
• Certain

Practice

Label each situation:

  1. Rolling a number bigger than 6

  2. Picking a red ball when the bag has 10 red and 1 blue

  3. Tossing a coin and getting heads

DAY 5 — Simple Probability Fractions

What to understand

A simple fraction shows the chance:

Probability = number of desired outcomes ÷ total outcomes

Examples:
• Dice: chance of a 4 = 1 out of 6
• Bag: 3 red out of 5 balls → 3 out of 5

Practice

  1. A dice: chance of rolling a 2 (fraction only)

  2. Bag has 4 red + 1 blue → chance of red

  3. Coin: chance of tails

  4. Bag: 2 green, 2 yellow → chance of green
